Wear protective gear
Always wear a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. This is a small investment and can eliminate almost two-thirds of all scooter accidents. In most many states helmets are required by law!

Supervise Children
All children under the age of eight should be supervised when riding a scooter. Almost a third of all scooer-related injuries and accidents involve children under the age of eight.

Use caution when riding your scooter
Stay away from cars and vehicles and ride scooters on off-roads where there is minimal traffic. Keep your scooter on smooth surfaces, stay away from sand, water and dirt.

Do not ride at night
Scooters are small and it is hard for other vehicles to see you at night. The safest time to ride your scooter is during the day.

Obey traffic rules
Obey traffic signs and signals
Stop at every stop sign. Look left, right and left again before proceeding.
Use proper hand signals.
